Green Flag Breakdown (www.www.greenflag.com)provides the breakdown assistance for Tesco's breakdown policies. It is owned by UK Insurance Limited (itself a part of banking giant RBS). Green Flag is the third largest breakdown company in the UK with almost 5 million customers.
Tesco breakdown claims to have a response time of 40 minutes and fixes 80% of cars at the roadside. If a mechanic doesn’t get to you within the hour, you can claim £10.
Tesco breakdown cover refers to the vehicle, not the driver, so your car is covered whoever is driving. Roadside assistance starts immediately when you sign-up and additional cover begins the day after.
